War for the Planet of the Apes

I was environments lead on this show from beginning to end. Another great team to work with across models and other departments. My responsibilities included helping manage the team and was an environment lead artist for all CG environments.

Throughout the show there was a mix of environment extensions with plate and full CG builds. Two of the biggest full CG builds were the prison environment and the fortress environment (apes cave).

It was another great opportunity to work closely with the FX department for the avalanche and explosions for the prison environment, and also the massive waterfall for the fortress environment.

This was one of the most enjoyable shows I've had the pleasure to work on with such a great team, and it shows in the quality of the work. I was honoured with being one of the nominees for Outstanding Created Environment in a Photoreal Feature for the 16th VES Awards for the Hidden Fortress. We also got a second nomination for the team for the Prison Camp.
